Here is Ron’s pitch (as best he remembers it) from the 2014 Writer’s Digest Annual Conference
My name’s Ron Delaney, and I’m here to pitch my 57,000 word middle grade modern fantasy, THE WHISPERING GATE. It’s my first novel.
Twelve year old Cat Parish had never seen a changeling before. Of course, until her father moved her and her younger siblings in with their grandparents, she’d never seen any fairies before. But there it was, ranting about revenge, holding up the crown, and declaring itself the new king of the fairies.
Just when Cat believes things can’t get any worse, the king orders his fairy subjects to kidnap children for a terrible new army.
Now Cat, her brother, and her sister must find a way to free the fairies from the mad king’s control and rescue the stolen kids before it can wage war on man.

More about Ron below:
I have a BA in English Literature, am a member of SCBWI, and have been writing seriously for four years. My love of storytelling has proven helpful in my day job as a corporate trainer, but the fairies can be a pain. They love to mess with the projector.
